is the best way to describe my weekend. It was AMAZING!! As the winter storm was moving in, the Brays were moving on out. I had a girls weekend planned since October & there was NOTHING that was going to keep me from going! I was supposed to meet several of my Young Life friends at Lake Toxaway for the weekend. Chris & I were very involved with Young Life when we lived in Charleston & we have been missing our friends so badly over the last few years. When I heard we were getting a winter storm on Friday I decided that I would pack up the kids early & head out of town so that I would miss it. Boy am I glad that I did! I think I would have been heartbroken if I had missed it. At the last minute we knew that we would not be able to make it to Lake Toxaway due to all of the snow so MD’s parents offered us their lakehouse in Lake Hartwell, SC. Truthfully, I did not care where we were going – I would have pitched a tent in the snow if it meant spending time with these girls! After a long afternoon of childcare drop-offs with grandparents & aunts we finally make it to Lake Hartwell & plopped right down at the lakehouse & NEVER moved. Now when I say “never moved” you might thing that is an exaggeration. Well, my friends, that is not at all a stretch of the truth. The house was so amazing that I felt like I was spending the weekend at a spa. The most any of us ever moved off of the couch was to put another log onto the fire or get more food from the kitchen. We sat & talked on the couch from 10am-2am on Saturday. I realize that this would be a man’s worst nightmare, but it was just what we needed. We talked & talked & talked about everything under the sun – you name it & the topic was touched on. I think if we had stayed for a full week then we probably would have done the same thing everyday:) Here are a few pictures that I took from the rare times that I did get off the couch… miss you girls already!!
